Thanks Kent for the reply

But unfortunatly I broke the connection at the engine not the wire, it is a clean break with very little if any wire to splice to.

Still trying to figure out if the place at the engine were the black wire from the o2 sensor can be replaced?

Thanks again

Joe

There is nothing special about the connection, although
I have read that some O2 sensor need "air" in the braided
wiring so the sensor has something to compare to.

You should be able to replace the space connection with
another. Pull back the wire to give yourself some working
space. Either solder the new connector to the old wire,
or use a good *ratcheting* crimper to crimp it. I got
mine from MCM: http://www.mcmelectronics.com, part number
22-770.

On a side note, if the wiring was that weak, the old O2
sensor may be/have been OK, and the failure was the at
connection.
