[V8] V8 Not Charging

When my brushes got so grungy they would no longer slide to contact the
alternator I took the alternator to a shop that does nothing but
automotive electronics. They replaced the brushes and tested the
alternator; nothing, dead in the water. Then an older dude comes over and
tells the other guy to put it back on the tester and shock it. Bing bang
boom it's been working flawlessly for close to two years now ( yes that
sound you heard was me knocking on wood ) Perhaps your alternator needs
the same shock treatment. I know it sounds weird but I'm not goofing you.
