[V8] trans question

Thanks for all the responses on my suddenly stalling car (post trans 
service).  I was thinking that the Dexron ATF they used might be a little stickier 
than another brand.  I understand that these cars idle in second and shift to 
first when you touch the gas.  The idea of a sticking solenoid for the torque 
converter is a distinct possibility and one I hadn't thought of.  In GM cars that 
I've had the problem with, I could unplug the TCC to test the theory.  Is 
that possible on the Audi?  The other thing about the TCC solenoid failures that 
I've had was that they locked up solid.  In the case of my Audi, it feels more 
like the engine takes a big hit as if a super-duper A/C compressor just 
kicked in.  Sometimes it kills the engine, sometimes the engine recovers.  BOOM - 
what the heck was that!  Could be the TCC.  Were your symptoms similar, Shawn 
(and any others)?
