Ghosted the list 3 yrs. A sincere and grateful thanks to Shawn Head, (then
with a '91 Pearl Nautica) who wrote on 1/21/04:
"I finally solved the stalling problem I have been having on my car.
Symptoms included high idle, rough stumble after shifting car into reverse,
and stumble/stall when sitting at a light and when starting from a stop."
My V8 would "stumble/stall at a traffic light" within one mile "after a
cold start" 40 deg F ambient or less, had to hold the brake hard to keep
from moving forward. Always, but never in warmer weather. Cincinnati.
Chased the problem 4 yrs, got the answer from Shawn's emails. Had the #1 &
2 solenoids rebuilt last spring, but couldn't claim victory until recent 30
deg weather. Audi dlr repl tranny $10,000. Fix solenoid $483.75. Still a
rip.
I think Shawn's 1/21/04 & 2/21/05 emails should be in the archives, but
I'm a novice. A volunteer? Can fwd the originals.
Sorry we lost Shawn when he sold his V8. Must be hormones or something.
