I firmly believe that 95% of the people on the road want their cars to do EVERYTHING for them. (including blaming the auto mfgr. when the vehicle fails because of driver error) The other 5% of the people drive Manual Tansmissions. Lump us into the fringe, the "Racer" catagory, or kooks, call us what you like, but I will take a MT over a AT every time. You HAVE to think about all aspects of driving when in command of all that power with 5 to 6 gears to deliver it.

I would liken this to driving a motorcycle. You have to be 100% aware of everything around you and must have an intuition about different drivers on the road. Every vehicle is the one that can drop you if you do not anticipate EVERY scenario. And always have an escape route. Every person driving on the American roadways should go through a program to drive a motorcycle. They will quickly become aware how dangerous our roads are these days. People on the roads have this ME, ME attitude. Thus the not taking 100% responsiblity for thier actions.

I'm fact I'm considering a 6 speed conversion to my RS6 before I complete it. Too bad the mentality of most people that could have originally afforded this car was the 95% or US would have had the RS6 6-speed.

"""To me, operating the transmission while driving is just part of the job ... hey, if we had more folks driving MT cars perhaps they'd be paying more attention to their responsibilities
as drivers ... """
