[V8] Water Pump Gasket

I've done a bunch of engines in the last 40 years and have always used
"Formagasket" on paper gaskets.  It is messy and not the nicest bit to have
to scrape off years down the road when you need to do it again, but it holds
the gasket well during assembly and I have never had one leak.  I always have
used the not-hardening version.  Good choice for the WP afaik. Good luck.
