I used Dave Head's 2X4 prescription after whacking all around the rims of
both sprockets repeatedly with a healthy deadblow hammer as described in
the manual with no results. Dave's approach is to take a piece of 2X4 ( I
use one about two feet long ) with the end held against a rim at a
45-degree angle and give three good whacks with a heavy hammer. I used the
same deadblow hammer on the 2X4. Took exactly three whacks to loosen each
side. After the first one worked, I attacked the second at a 60-degree
angle just to check, and it did no good. Three whacks at 45 degrees and
that one was loose too.
