The V8Q may last longer than most. If you take production numbers into
account, it's amazing how many are still on the road. Rust, or lack of,
is a major factor in favor of the V8Q, as is the quality of build
materials. Where have all the SEL's gone? There used to be "California
Chevrolet" on every corner around here, now you'll find more in the
boneyard than the parking lot. 4 door sedans have never been worth much
of anything on the collector market until recently, and those are still
around in shows and museums were special cars from the get go. Like many
other milestone cars, I think it's day will come, might not be around to
see it though. Honestly, anyone, anywhere, ever think that a Hemi Cuda
would be getting up to U$4 million at auction? I'm not all that old, but
I still remember people laughing at a buyer who paid $12000 for a
pristine '55 MB 300SL in the mid 70's, the buyer is doing the laughing
now.

If the world goes the way of Euro-land and most of the world, anything
larger than a cracker box on wheels will still be special enough people
will defy logic and keep them around. I have a GOOD idea where some of
these rubber room candidates will come from, I think there's one living
in my mirror, check yours.

How extravagant you are, throwing away women like that. Some day they may
be scarce.
