love to, but finding one with less rust than my 82 S10 is a very expensive proposition. as a car (when its running and you've replaced all the electrics...) its great, and the Miata made a pretty nice 'update'... wonder if its kinda like the A8 'update' of the V8 though...

If you were watching TV back in the 'glory days' of the cold war, you could have lusted after the 7 as seen in The Prisoner, or the Elan as seen in the Avengers (personally, I lusted after Emma Peel a bit more than her car...)

But I would need a garage that wasn't full of Audi parts so that I could actually fit a car in it, if I was buying an old Lotus... and baby seats look really strange in a 7 ;)

No, no, no, no. You guys got it all wrong. I suspect it is because most of
you weren't born during the cold war.

But if you really want a cult car, buy a Lotus Elan. Think about it a
moment. The cars had truly fantasmagoric handling with all the quirks and
idiosyncracies of the V8 on its worst day.

ANY V8 person would feel right at home!
