[V8] Lights Flickering

Ed,

I just went through a similar problem with a 91 Jetta I purchased. I
started with replacing the voltage regulator, and my flickering went away.
Shortly thereafter, however, the altenator stopped charging. Luckily, I
had a spare to put on the car. I wouldn't have had this luxury if it were
the V8. Not to mention it is alot easier replacing an altenator on the
Jetta than the V8. I would maybe check voltages before diving in, but the
VR is not all that expensive, and probably is a good idea to replace if you
are unsure of it's age. (I would bet the brushes are getting rather
smallish)

Regards,
