Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I found a propane burning V8! I had
created a V8 map of Germany and Werner in Munich mapped his V8 and included
a photo of his propane equipped 4.2:

section seems to be a new feature!

I also challenged the Europeans to map more V8s than North America, so if
you haven't mapped your car(s) yet, please do so! :-)

http://www.risingconcepts.com/frapper/audiv8qowners - North America with 47
cars

I will see if I can get more info from Werner on his toy and let you all
know.

Cheers,

- Jeremy

There's another interesting V8 that *may* exist out there... according to an
article I have from Sports Car Illustrated (Nov, I think '89), reviewing the
new V8 Quattro (pretty favorably), it includes this line:

"for wealthy environmental activists, the car can be ordered with a propane
burning engine"

So... Anyone ever heard that, seen one, have any verification that this was
ever built?

if so, THAT surely belongs in the Museum...

BTW, their testing yielded a 0-60 time of 9.13 seconds, 1/4 mile at 16.95 @
87.7mph and a top speed run of 141mph
