[V8] V8 Hot or not?

Since replacing the timing belt, rollers and assorted other goodies on
my 90 V8 (including the thermostat), I notice the engine temp runs right
below 100C on the gauge - I have not seen it go over (yet), and don't
really want to. I am not running the A/C.
All fluids OK, fans working.
Remember I'm in Florida (Daytona, not as hot as Miami, but still gets
warm), so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
How hot is hot? Before I did the belt, I have the impression it ran
cooler, about halfway between the marks, higher in traffic, but still
not more than 100. Is this OK or is this running too warm and I should
look for problems or install a lower temp thermostat? The thermostat
came from Bruce, so I figure it is the right one . . . but it might be
right for northern climates, not Florida.
(LAC - I'm disposing of a 2005 Dodge Magnum for an estate - V6, etc. At
18,000 miles, this car is noticeably slower and noticeably thirstier
than my V8 Audi. The battery is all the way in the back, under the
floor, and the tailgate leaks . . . onto the relay box, which is between
the battery and the rear bumper. I have the distinct feeling there are
going to be a LOT of these around with unsolvable electrical problems in
a few years - this is a *dumb* design!)
