[V8] that timing belt saga

Kneale,
never did a V8 Tbelt, but on most belt replacements, you want to go with the 
belt bearing surface that has the most give and I doubt the cam sprocket is 
it (no give no way to cheat) .  You've mentioned loosening the tensioner as 
far as it goes.  What about removing a roller, seating the belt and 
reinstalling the roller. (poorly worded but I think oyu get the idea)  Some 
roller would be easier than others I would think, you have a lot to choose 
from.

Why can't I get the timing belt onto all its wheels and rollers:

I've tried a little rolling back and forth of the crankshaft pulley, the
adjuster pulley on the upper left is as loose as it goes and the belt just
won't reach.
