Interesting take. Just read one of the ever popular comparisons with 5
cars, 1= A4 V6 and 2= BMW 330 ...yada yada. Well the Audi placed middle of
the pack do to other makers catching up while Audi stood still. The Bimmer
placed first. I was surprised to see the Audi A4 weighing in at 3,700+ lbs
or as much as an Ur S car. The BMW was 250+- lighter with more power. If I
were a buyer in that set, I'd also take the BMW hands down. Hate to think
what the A6/8 weigh in at. Pretty sure I don't need that much automotive
fat either!

So does Csaba Csere of Car and Driver is his musings from October of

Personally, I'd rather have a car that doesn't do everything under
the sun. One who dabbles in many things but is master of none is
considered a dilettante. And for a car to do the same is
unconscionable. And it directly impacts quality and reliability.
Creature comforts are fine, but they should not come at the EXPENSE
of reliability and hence value retention. Toyota understands this.
I wish Audi did.
