The issue is not going somewhere, it is the TIME needed to get it done.
Either it gets done here, or some other solution will be necessary.  

If I would only have to good grace to simply retire, then I could have all
the time needed to properly take car of my cars!

I would drive to a bigger area where you can find a decent shop. Isn't the 
time worth no headache like what you are going through. I ordered the parts 
for my 4000Q (2 1/4 cat, two mufflers-$150 total) and had a system put 
together for about $350 total. Fits perfect, sounds good, all 2 1/4". I had 
the same shop put straight pipes on the V8 from the center muffler out the 
back - that part was missing when I bought the car. $60, beautiful work. It 
was about 70 miles from where I live, but well worth it. Heck, I'd drive 200

miles just to get the work I did. I've had the 4000Q for almost 2 years with

that system, no problems whatsoever.
