... I do believe that I was able to get at the lock mechanism without
taking the door apart ... but it is *so* much easier when you do. As I
recall there were only a handful of parts that hold the inner and outer
parts of the door together ...
I hear you on the second comment ... It seems like all I have time to do
is handle the more urgent issues as they pop up ... like the clutch
failure on #344 a week or so ago. I knew the issue was in the clutch
master/slave ... tried bleeding to no avail ... new slave did the trick
... *BUT* all the other niggling issues remain ... well, I guess I did
do the serp belt while I was there, so no more squawk, squawk from the
engine ... :-)
One reason I brought up the clutch issue ... #344 has always had a
fairly low "friction point" on the clutch ... i.e. the clutch begins
transferring power when the pedal is very close to the floor. After the
M/C swap both cars are much more consistent in this regard.
