Get the truck (although I think Chebbies are a disposable commodity
item and you could find one closer to home). Then for those days
you don't need the truck, an '02 Audi A8L, with the long wheelbase
for the extra room in the back.  The newer cars are more reliable
(though not to Toyota levels). A Tiptronic should satisfy her and
placate you. ;)

If the A8 proves reliable enough, put a hitch on the back, get a
trailer, and ditch the Chevy.
