[V8] Radiators

Well - it looks like my radiator is starting to leak around the upper hose and
the purge hose. It is very slow, but I need to fix it before too long.

So - I have been looking around for new parts, and the local NAPA says they can
get one from Modine for around $275. My favorite Audi guy has one from Langerer
& Reich, but it was $325. I assumed the Modine was brass, and the  Langerer &
Reich was the OEM Aluminum/plastic and that is the one I want. Then I found out
that Modine and Langerer & Reich are the same company.
So - what were the issues those of you had that have replaced your rads?
Was it brass or Aluminum?
I remember some had to cut something - and I don't want to do that. I will pay a
little more for the proper fit - but hopefully not the $458 the dealer wants.


And on a different topic - MAN does my V8 like cold weather!
It is in the low 20's here and the motor for some reason feels way stronger -
even after it is at normal temp.
I notice this every year. Maybe instead of a turbo, we need a Liquid Nitrogen
intake air cooler!!
