[V8] The Black Mariah: feeling much better, thank you!

Well I fired up the Black Mariah yesterday and pulled it in tight to the
garage. Connected the battery charger to insure a full charge and then set
off for Lamoine where the wrench's garage is carefully hidden in the bushes.

About a two miles from home I came to the intersection of Route 3, which is
the road to Bar Harbor, and the stop light there. I stopped the car, and
waited for the light to change.

Suddenly the alternator started to alternate or whatever they do, the lights
on the dash that had lighted when I hit the puddle on Friday went out, and
the volt meter showed a positive 13 volts.

I love these cars. They are intelligent and left to think about their ills,
they will cure themselves.

Right.

So, the car is in the hands of the wrench, along with a list. We are going
to cure the last of the things that are wrong with the car, so that when I
head to Canada on a business trip later this month, the car will be ready to
go.

Stay tuned. If all goes well, it will be an easy trip. If all goes poorly,
there may be a 20 valve Avant for sale in Canada....

And I still miss my V8....(mandatory V8 content).

Roger
