... for some of the older Audis you can even consider Porsche ...
Back in the days where Didi worked at Carlsen [sob!] ... I needed to order some clutch parts ... and Didi thought to check prices there ... for some Audi models there is commonality with the 914 or 924 Porsches ... she found that I could get the Porsche version of the metal throw out bearing sleeve for cheaper than Audi or VW ... I don't remember if I ended up using it on the 4kQ or the urq, but one of the two of them is using a Porsche part ... ;-)
I don't think it is that much of a surprise to see this sort of difference between the VW marques ... just keep the fact in mind and if you think there might be a common application, try calling a VW or Porsche dealer!
