I don't have TFA to refer to here, but I do know that there is one fundamental difference ... the earlier ABS systems did not have the accelerometer switch. I know that my 88 5kCSQA does not have the accelerometer. You will want to make sure you don't get an earlier brain ...
Audi ABS control boxes seem to be pretty available here in the states, perhaps this is a situation where you might want to look abroad for your solution ... perhaps Audi Connection or Force 5 can get you what you need ...
