... I was thinking a bit about something I read in a post yesterday ...
someone was concerned about grounding issues, so they wanted to get to the
ECU ...
You're not going to do anything about grounds by accessing the ECU. I guess
I should say *anything* ... there is some chance of oxidation at the pins
... but the major issue with grounding is at the other end of the wire ...
attachment points at the engine block and chassis are the places to focus
... I'm also concerned about common points integrated into wiring looms (in
fact I will be digging in a bit on this on #344 today). The location of
these grounding points are identified in the wiring diagram. Another one I
keep an eye out for is the grounding braid from the engine block to the body
of the car. When this one starts breaking down it makes it more difficult
to charge the battery and creates a significant voltage difference between
the engine block and chassis ... which can create a number of odd
situations.

... now that I'm thinking about it I think I'll tackle the rear antenna
cable problem today ...
