[V8] snapping noise from the distributor/coil area

I had an odd one just like this:
One of the plug wire towers on the cap (driver side) was cracked all the way
around its base - only the metal conductor was holding it on. It was shorting
out to the black plastic cover over the cap. It turns out this cap is conductive
and is basically a ground shield for RF noise. I could not see the crack until I
removed the cap and then the cover. Probably caused by the monkees at the
alignment shop.
