I do a bit of work with someone that has a 2.7t. She's put $THOUSANDS$ into the car in the last few months, almost all under the hood. I wouldn't call her a satisfied customer...

PS - My 3.0 Taurus has been beaten to death and keeps runnning... wish I'd known about the 3.8 issues before picking that one up. Oh well, at least it was cheap, until the head work... maybe I'll drop a 3.0 in there instead. Unless someone has a RELIABLE Avant for sale.

My brother-in-law HAD an A6 2.7t...I warned him before he purchased that
that particular model had shown a fairly high percentage of issues - he
found out after he purchased that I hadn't exaggerated! I must admit that
early on I was intrigued by the possibilities of the 2.7t, but overcame my
initial desire based upon the reviews I had read regarding reliability.
Still loving my V8,
Justin
90 V8q - 193k and I'm still not looking to replace her. (The wife has had 4
new cars in the same period that I've owned my v8!)

... a friend and coworker of mine had the transmission problem that is also
fairly common to the Taurus/Sable models ... funny, he used to have the
Sable and a T-bird SC ... now he's got an A6 2.7T and a Mini. I must say
that his A6 has not been the most trouble free though ...
