Oh, boy! Think you'll have it ready in time to pick me up on Thursday?
Yes, you will have to remove (careful of the Airbag) the steering wheel when
refitting. I believe they suggest an alignment after replacing the rack,
though I can't see why, unless you are replacing a tie rod end or doing
other suspension work. The steering wheel will almost definitely be
off-center. Do you still have the airbag or is yours without? Anyhow, I
place the wheel to what I think is straight, but then drive it on a nice
flat road, making note which way the wheel is tilted and then readjust when
I get back home before buttoning the job up.
