[V8] Starting Problems

I am a little confused Steve -
The factory plug is a standard single electrode, and the most reliable cheap
replacement was a off-the-shelf Champion single electrode.
(sorry - can't remember part# now)
The multi-electrode plugs (at least the +4) do not get good reports in a V8. I
yanked mine and went back to OEM, although I now think my real problem was my
fuel pump relay (below).
I also had a hard starting problem that turned out to be the fuel pump relay.
Symptoms were like what you describe. One tell-tale sign is that the engine will
often start just as you release the key, or will start quickly on the second
try, no matter how long you crank it the first time. It turns out that the fuel
pump and ignition both get their power from the fuel pump relay, but from
seperate contacts. Clean/adjust the contacts or just try a new relay.
On the fuel pressure, that does sound a little high, but the actual numbers are
specified in the manual.
And on the engine temp sender, make sure you have the right one and it is
working!
I remember some confusion over weather it is the variable resistance sender -
same as for the temp guage, or a switch. I believe the correct part is the
resistance sender, which (again relying on foggy memory) is white, and the
switch type is black.
