[V8] Audi S8

On a slight tangent...  I'm recently responsible for a friend's purchase of
an A4.  Not quite the same vehicle as the V8, but they've been exposed to it
enough and I've towed their pop-up camper with it more easily than they can
with their Jeep Wrangler 4.0.  More recently with my "new" 230k mile '91
Avant and my occasional comments about Quattro, the seed finally sprouted
and they got a very nice '97 A4 2.8 quattro.  I was relieved it wasn't a
1.8t because these are not car savvy people and they did not consult me
prior to the purchase.  Now he's looking at other Audis as well.  I like
wagons so I will not miss an excuse to suggest and Avant and have already to
them.  ;-)

This all began as a request to go look at a Mercedes "450SL" which turned
out to be a 450SLC, a very different car really as an old one has far less
interest commonly than the convertible version and this particular one was a
'75 and was very pretty but a definite project.  Rich then began to look for
SL's and Mary, the more practical half, had me advise her on an Audi, of
which I chose a '93-'95 90q, because I have come to believe it is less needy
and more mainstream than anything earlier, aside from the 100's from '92
on.  She was fairly set on that, but he went car shopping alone on Monday
with a cash in hand.
