Your info is somewhat correct for the SL, not the SLC.  Maybe nobody read
the original thread & replies because they were under the Subject "Audi
S8", most if not all of this was covered in the first few replies.
FWIW my friends SLC is a 1972 with a 5 speed, and it's fast and downright
hairy at times if you're not careful, FAR from being a dog as some have
said, gotta remember this thing was made 34 years ago.  Also, I have seen
North American model 450SLC's with the 5L engine, they were sold here,
under the 450SLC badge and not 500SLC.

And yes, it's on topic, this IS the V8 list, not the V8Q list.  ;-)
