[V8] Coolant Expansion Tank

Hi,
I appreciate all the responses. I got the coolant tank from, I think, Bimmerzone (Autohaus?) and the tank is a little different then the original tank. Mind you the tank does leak a bit from the cap but the seams of the tank itself have a leak; and it is minimal. I am adding about 2 cups of water/coolant a week. I can try my old cap since I still have it and see if it helps.
Thanks again for all the help,

Zay et al,

Coolant tank follow-up:

As Kneale has mentioned, you could have a defective cap that allows
overpressurization. And as Steve alluded, the newer tanks don't seem
as robust -- however, are we talking OEM or modifield 5k/100/200
tanks? The V8 ones, while more $$ seem to be better made IME. Just
an observation.

Ingo
