Thank you for all of the tips and for welcoming me
into the V8 community - the diagnostic channels are
pretty cool. So channel 1 told gave me fault 09 -
Coolant Temp Sensor G62 Open. The value, when I
checked the channel that shows that output was
something like 'r55'. Does that mean anything? And
where in the engine bay is that sensor to be found?

I haven't picked up a Bentley for the V8 yet, so I
apologize for the somewhat stupid-sounding question.

Cheers,

Alex

Most 90/91 V8's dont have the G62 sensor wired into the system even though
the Climate control is set up for the function. Fault 9 on chaneel one is
therefore an "ignore" fault.

G62 is the ECT sensor on the rear of the passengers cylinder head. If it was
faulty you can be sure you would have running problems as this sensor is
what the Motronic uses to determine engine temp for running strategies.
