[V8] Two seeminly stupid questions - 02 sensor and weight

having completely stripped 2 cars to their frames... you can pull an ASTOUNDING amount of weight off them.  Heck the wiring harness alone is around 50 pounds!  Pulling all the soundproofing, the unused (for racing) wiring, stereo, and (as Ingo mentions) swap a few steel panels (sunroof, etc...) for fiberglass... and even the side windows are big and heavy... Pull the A/C, headlight washers, and other ancillary stuff, yeah it'll get a lot lighter.  The doors are actually quite light once you get the guts and glass out.  Could be a lot of fun... drop 1000 pounds off the car, lower the center of gravity and put in the 5spd... wheeee!
 
I guess it really depends on how far you want to go :)

Grey wire?  It's an additional ground.  Use it.


Stripped weight?  All depends on whether you start replacing the  
steel panels and glass with fiberglass an lexan.  Also manual or  
auto?  With manual, I imagine 2800 would be doable. Front seats,  
sound deadener, etc really add up.
