[V8] Glovebox Latch Broken

I learned that the glovebox on #2 is stuck closed ... tried with the lock in both positions, neither releases the latch.  I haven't spent much time trying to figure things out yet, all I've done is to check #344 and see that the latch mechanism is all covered up on the door.  It seems like I might be able to get the latch handle to come off ... but I haven't figured out how just yet.  It also seems that I may be able to get in from behind if I pull the ductwork for the passenger's footwell.

Anyone been down this road and have any recommendations?
