[V8] Cold Start

Haven't pulled codes as car "runs' fine.  Caps/rotors/plugs new.  I'll try
your trick and pull codes when I can.

... to me 2-3 seconds of cranking isn't too much of a problem ... but I do
know that the V8 *can* fire quicker than that when cold.

... the three things that could cause a leak down are the fuel pump check
valve, the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors themselves.  It sounds
as though you've addressed the two main candidates ... the one check that I
do is that I crank the engine for a fraction of a second and release the
key.  Now I wait a couple seconds and try again ... if the engine catches
immediately I figure there's a problem with residual pressure.

It seems to me that if you've got old plugs, cables, dizzy caps and rotors
it might well contribute to difficult cold starting as well ... have you
read out ECU codes?
