I also have the exact same problem. It also stared when I put a new belt

on my next t-belt job and see if it helps.

Let me start with your sentences, Justin: I also have the exact same
problem. It also stared when I put a new belt on.
It lasted about 30 K miles without any harm, only annoying. As for me, it
sounds (when warmed up) like bunch of bolts and nuts turning in thick wall
barrel.
When I increased TB tension (with long screwdriver on running engine without
left TB cover), this f...g sound became quieter, but tension was too much.
Now my engine is in pieces due to rings change and valve job and at
disassembling I've admitted that right timing chain was little loose. Same sound was
present on my old '91 V8 and also seems like emanated mostly from the right
side -- after rebuilding engine it doesn't appear yet (I'm riding now on this PT
engine in my '92 V8 -- ABH in pieces! Nice to have spare engine!), when I'll
put it back -- let all of you V8CRAZZY know. This is my V8 rebuild project
#3 already. Project #1, which passed away with my '91 V8, was quiet as mouse
after rebuild -- every project require chains change. What can I tell you for
sure -- in my more, then 40 years practice -- this sound is specific to the
PT and ABH engines, don't know about ABZ and later engines -- they have to
live for PT and ABH ages!
