Mobil list the following specs.
DTE-13M is 32W @40C. good from -4F up to +212F
DTE-12M is 22W @40C, good from -25F to +185
DTE-11M is 15W @40C, good from -35F to +158
Advertised as an anti-wear hydraulic oil from their marine
lubricants division with high shear stability and superior corrosion
resistance.
Pentosin 11S is 19W @ 40C good from -40F to +266F.
The thinner subsitutes would seem to be the better choice,
especially in colder climates. I've not had any problems with the
DTE-13M, but our lows are around +20F. Pentosin does have a wider
temp range, period. You get what you pay for, but...as long as you
get what you need.

Subject: Re: [V8] Pentosyn Replacement Oil
I am using Chevron RYKON 32 and have not had any problems with it. I
think the
32 refers to the weight, and there is a "16" as well that might be
better for the sub-zero climates. I have noticed my steering being a
little sluggish when the temp was near zero. It seemed to warm up
quickly though.
As for changing the oil, it is so much cheaper you can change it all
you want - but I would guess oil life is the same as for the
pentosin. Probably ought to change it every 30K or so.
