BTW, I will be taking leave of the list in the near future. I may stop in
at times, but I am officially separating from my ultra rare 1990 V8 5spd
this week. It'[s not going far, however. It had been for sale for some
time, but my sister is going through a divorce and money is tight, so I
decided to give it to her.

Funny thing is, before I give it to her, I decided to bring it down to my
mechanic to fix a bunch of niggly problems (door lock, control arm bushes,
electrical short) and to do the timing belt. They call me to come pick up
the car and when I get there, the owner has a very glum look on his face.
Apparently, the mechanic hadn't tightened the tensioner enough so when they
revved the engine taking it out of the work bay, the belt skipped and
pistons and valves collided. A top end rebuild later and I now have the car
back. For those keeping track at home, that's two engines and two top end
rebuilds for me with this car. It's now purring as smooth as ever.

Anyways, I wanted to thank everyone on the list for their generosity in
sharing their knowledge and the comaraderie. This list has been a godsend
for anyone trying to keep these noble beasts on the road. It truly is a
remarkable car--IMHO far superior in quality to my current 2002 A8L. My V8
has been in my family for 16 years and with any luck, it will be around for
at least 5 more.

Cheers Everyone

Bill Gutierrez
