[V8] Window lift usual suspects?

Did an R&R on the RF window regulator that was confirmed dead, with a 
confirmed good unit. After install, operation was flukey with drivers switch 
and a bit more predictable with pass switch. Finally just works in down mode 
with pass switch.  Confirmed only 12+ on one of 2 incoming power wires.  Is 
this a frayed door jamb symptom or could my drivers side switch be flukey 
enough to cause this.  I can't follow the Bentley window tracks to save my 
life.
