Not to be confused with herren und damen. :)

I made a business trip to Germany a few years ago. My contact
picked me up in his BMW 7 series. On the way to his office,
we hit 200+km/h. I was thrilled. He was talking business
with the radio on low, like we were doing 55mph. It's all
a matter of education, training, and expectations.

Top Gear did a test of hustling a Ford Transit diesel deliver van
around the Nurbergring. They had a professionnal driver (female,
who had hundreds of laps of the Nurbergring under her belt) drive.
Her goal was to break 10 minutes. She couldn't do it with Jeremy
(the host) and her on board, so he got out, then they stripped the
seats and whatever they could. She got within about 10 seconds of
the 10 minute goal.

"It ain't the car, it's the driver."

Look for:
Sabine Schmidt in a van at the Nürburgring

Thanks for the write-up, and the memories.
