#2 That is correct - the whine is a say a check valve or something to do
with the closed tank circuit resonating at the top of the fuel tank.
It can be stopped by relieving pressure on the tank itself - untwist the gas
cap.

OK, I would have quizzed the guys in Suffolk, but I didn't make it
and so I didn't.
So here goes:
The darn thing won't downshift like my old '90 - even in sport mode.
Idle switch functions properly. Also upshifts from floored in first
a~ 5k in normal mode and ~5.4k in Sport mode. Normal? Can I switch
Trans ECU with the one from my "project" '90?
I have and annoying low-toned whine that's coming from the fuel tank
area and is intermittent while driving and almost always present
after parking and shutting the car off. Seems like some kind of
relief valve?
