... You will find that the difference in that upper oil sump casting is to clear one of the transmission oil cooling lines ... I suppose you could always transfer the piece off your old motor to the new one ... It would give you a chance to see the bottom end of the engine you're installing as well ... All that said, I used the automatic engine as is and it works fine.
Starters ... Identical.
Flywheel ... Just bolts right on. I would imagine that the flywheel is balanced by itself. In my case I put a new flywheel on my auto engine and gave the flex plate to a needy lister ... The flywheel bolts right up and I don't notice any balance issues. My clutch throwout mechanism makes more noise than it should when I'm shifting, but that can't be due to the engine swap.
Pilot bearing ... Slides right into the automatic crank ... Which is probably identical to an MT crank ... ;-)
Given the fact that you remove the front end of the car to access the engine, the swap was rather amazingly simple given what you're doing! You don't even really need one of those "load balancers" that you need for a 5-cyl swap ...
