Or just pull the air cover off and check the vacuum hose @ the Fuel
Pressure Regulator.  There should be no gasoline present in the vacuum
line, sucking on the FPR with a piece of hose should taste dry.  A friend
had a Renault that was SO bad, when we pulled the vacuum line and cranked
the engine,  gasoline would shoot out about 3 feet from the vacuum line. 
He still regrets not taking my advise to aim the vacuum line at the
exhaust manifold, go for a drive, call insurance company then fire dept.
