[V8] Oil Weight

I understand that concern but I haven't had an issue with it before. I've had many older Audis with 3 times the miles of my current V8 and used fully synthetic oil in ALL of them with no problems.

So, if you are to use the oil, what weight is recommended? Is the 0W40 a good choice for this motor as it was for my 2.7?

I highly reccomend that if you have a 15 year old motor that has always used Dino oil to NOT switch to Synthetic. It will clean all that useful varnish that has kept the seals plugged and you will have oil dripping out of the motor.
