Yours switches to charge automatically?  Well, shoot.  Mine just  
stops after 24 hours...

FYI, my charger puts a very slight drain on the battery in certain  
circumstances.  I was also amused to note that the fan seems tied in  
some situations to charger output voltage; on a nearly dead battery,  
the fan hardly spins at all.
