[V8] engine rattle

I have had the same rattle in my 91 V8 5 speed since I purchased it. Keith
listened to it and has come up with two solutions....
He had a 4.2 with the same noise and did the following. He replaced all 32
hydraulic lifters in the heads and replaced the oil pump. He seems to think
the noise is actually eminating from the oil pump though. However, having
replaced both at the same time he is not exactly sure which caused the noise
to go away. I however have a master Audi technician of 18 years working for
me at my shop and he said the V8's had some lifter problems and has heard
the noise in mine and swears up and down a new set of lifters will cure the
noise.
Just my 2 cents.
Kyle
91 V8 5 speed (still sounds like it has screws rattling in a can when it
warms up)
