[V8] 2 Questions: Tires & Gas Mileage

Zay,

A couple of things, first off "everyone" is going to ask if you have
pulled any codes off the ECM.
Second, if your pouring raw fuel out of the exhaust. Stop now. You're a
driving hazard to yourself and others. Check the fuel injectors (one
might be stuck open) also do you have any cat's on the car? (if you do)
they are prob. Trashed. (also a cause for the poor milage, IMO).

About the FPR, if you bought a "universal" it might need to be adjusted
to the correct fuel pressure. About the O2 sensors, if your pouring raw
fuel out, your O2 sensor is a "trap" for the fuel making it fail, First
things first.. look at the trouble codes and go from there, otherwise
you could go broke with the point and replace method.

I hope it helps (and wasn't too harsh).

Scott

Subject: [V8] 2 Questions: Tires & Gas Mileage

Good morning,

1. I am in need of new tires and would like to know what is the correct
size tire for a 16 inch rim for the V8. I know I could probably get the
info from the archives but I do not have access to the archives at this
time. So any guidance is appreciated.

2. I am at my wits end with my whopping 10-11 miles per gallon. I have
replaced my 02 sensor 3 times in the last year and a half and the last
02 replacement I replaced the temp. sensor as well which I was told was
most likely the reason the first 2 02 sensors went bad...the 3rd one
must be bad again. The first couple weeks of 02 replacement all is well
but then slowly but surely gas mileage goes right back down again.
Un-burnt fuel is pouring out my exhaust at pretty much any speed.

Can a faulty FPR cause this? I ask because it almost seems like I began
having these issues when I replaced the FPR. The car runs pretty cool
(just above the 75 mark) and rarely gets to the 100 marker. If I
replace the 02 sensor and don't reset the fault codes would this cause
this issue.

Guys, I am ready to get rid of my car because of this issue. I do not
mind the 15-17 miles a gallon I was getting a year and a half ago but
when you are filling up every 160-180 mile of driving at $40.00-45.00
dollars a fill up it starts to *REALLY* hurt the pocket.

All help is appreciated. Thanks to all as always,
