I agree with everything said so far.
FPR - can cause Alfred E. Neumann syndrome, so change it out if it is more
than a couple years old. Don't forget to pull the fuse on the fuel pump
relay and crank it a few times to release some of the pressure in the fuel
rail, otherwise it can get in your eyes in addition to making a mess.
Thanks to cobram for this how-to:

Injectors - No experience, but if one is stuck open, this makes sense. Many
shops can do an injector test / cleaning for you if you remove them and
bring them in. Be careful of the brittle plastic electrical connector and
the rubber O-Ring. I believe Dave / Shawn found a source for these if yours
disintegrate on removal. Don't forget to do the instrument cluster check
listed on Scott's webpage which includes a cycle of all 8 injectors:

Thermostat - If your car isn't ever hitting 86deg C after warming up for
5min REPLACE THE T-STAT. Thanks to Ingo for pointing this out to me, the
needle should sit just under 100 mark at all times. If it is *much* cooler
than this your gas mileage will suffer (~2mpg), you will get a sooty
tailpipe, and you may experience premature O2 sensor failure.
1 new injector - $140
1 new injector seal - $4
1 new Ford F350 O2 Sensor - $50
1 new Fuel Pressure Regulator - $160
1 new Thermostat & gasket - $20
24 beers of Tony's choosing - $28
Total cost? Less than a new car payment or two ;-)
Hang in there Zay; there is nothing more fun to drive than a V8Q that is
running like a top. :-)
Cheers,
- Jeremy
