I agree with Craig - I was just about to post this when I got his e-mail. 
Only thing I don't agree with is the wire assignments.

1 wire sensor - 1 sensor wire
3 wire sensor - 1 sensor wire, 2 wires for heating element(ok, technically
one is a ground and the other is +12, but the ground isn't for the sensor,
just for the heater, so you get ground through the exhaust pipe)
4 wire sensor - 1 sensor wire, 1 sensor ground, 2 wires for heating
element
