[V8] High-milage V8

Well -
I will be able to tell you what the bores look like on a 150K
mile specimen very shortly.
I am planning to replace the rings -
because this motor has always used oil. I have had it since about 80K
miles. There is a small possibility that the mileage is inaccurate but I
believe it to be correct.
The only reasons to say otherwise are that
the clutch went bad around 100K miles, and the instrument cluster had been
worked on before I got the car. The IC could easily have been only opened
up for light bulb replacements, and the clutch could easily have been due
to a bad driver. I know my wife takes years off the life of my clutch
every time she drives the car.

I am operating on the assumption
that oil consumption is most often caused by bad rings - not cylinder
wear. Fingers are crossed on that one.
