Dave, 
Here is a very cool article on track width and assorted handling stuff.  
Maybe a better explanation than I can do explaining why you might want to add  
track width up front.
A few people emailed looking for some clarification on terms, which is what  
might have gotten them confused on what I was trying to say to begin with.
Not too technical- but way better worded and with the good primer on the  
basic physics explained way better than I could....I love Google, you can  find 
it all, and quick.
