[V8] Dilemma

I do understand why someone would want a V8 Avant...

I briefly owned a '91 V8Q 5 speed with a (previously installed) Stebro
exhaust system. Currently I have a chipped 20v Avant which I love dearly.
It has 287K miles on Mobil 1 and normal (Audi) maintenance and a stock
exhaust system.

While there *is* some replacement for displacement, there is no substitute
for the sound of that 4 cam V8 going through the gears!!! I need a wagon
most of the time, so to me the V8 was more like a hobby car than a daily
driver. I recall that there is a butterscotch colored V8 that had an Avant
rear clip grafted. I think the new owner is in this group.

I'm pretty sure that Keith has put an Audi V8 into a 10v Avant. Of course
there's the infamous LT1-Q and I believe Ross Converse has put some other V8
into a Type 44 chassis. Speaking of Converse, my *other* car is a (RWD)
Volvo wagon with 5.0 V8 transplant.

Maybe the proliferation of //S2 clones drives the market for 3B and AANs. I
would think a CQ would be an excellent candidate for a V8. (slightly off
topic)

Andrew, you are a maniac! When I saw your car posted, I thought it would be
the basis for a great project. I'm glad you have it back and wish you the
best of luck with it.
